Mary is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 22 years of experience in counseling working with clients of all ages, from children to adults.
Prior to receiving her Master’s degree through University of Utah, Mary was involved internationally in social advocacy work and development of child welfare and adoption laws. Advocacy, starting where clients are, and seeing the person in their environment continue to be an important part of Mary’s work. She is a champion of post traumatic growth and healing!
In her work with children and adults, she has specialized in the treatment of autism and ADHD, as well as trauma, anxiety, and depression. Mary also has a love for working with individuals with chronic illness. Through clinical training and through her own mold illness journey, Mary understands the multi-faceted needs of people struggling with physical, cognitive and emotional needs associated with chronic illness. Additional specialties include working with couples, as well as working with clients on issues of spirituality, faith crisis/faith transition, parental alienation and family estrangement, and grief counseling.
Most recently, Mary was trained and certified in ART (accelerated resolution therapy), which combines eye movement (similar to EMDR) and trauma re-scripting. She has also seen success using variations of this method with children and teens. Mary is also certified in treatment of perinatal mood disorders, integrative and somatic mental health practices, EFT/tapping, solution focused therapy, narrative therapy, and other client centered approaches to counseling.
