Group Therapy

Understanding Group Therapy

Group Therapy brings individuals together in a guided setting led by a trained therapist. Participants share experiences, learn coping strategies, and gain perspective from others facing similar challenges.

Group sessions may focus on anxiety, depression, grief, trauma recovery, addiction, anger management, parenting support, eating disorders, divorce support, or identity-based groups such as teen groups, LGBTQ+ support groups, and men’s or women’s groups.

Group Therapy offers structured support while reducing isolation. Many individuals find comfort and strength in shared experience.

Concerns You May Be Experiencing

You may feel alone in your anxiety, grief, addiction recovery, or life challenges. Hearing others share similar experiences can reduce shame and increase connection.

Individual therapy helps, but you want additional accountability and shared understanding from others working toward growth.

Concerns such as postpartum, pornography addiction, substance abuse recovery, trauma, anger management, divorce adjustment, or eating disorder recovery may benefit from focused group work.

You may want practical coping tools taught in skills-based groups that focus on emotional regulation and behavior change.

Group Therapy can provide consistent support at a lower cost than individual sessions.

Divorce, job loss, a new diagnosis, or a significant identity shift can feel disorienting. Connecting with others in similar seasons of change can provide grounding, perspective, and encouragement.

The importance of group Therapy

Group Therapy provides guided discussion, structured learning, and shared support. Participants learn coping skills, communication tools, and emotional regulation strategies in a collaborative environment.

Being part of a group allows you to gain perspective, practice vulnerability, and build confidence in relationships. Many individuals experience reduced isolation and stronger accountability through peer support.

At Aspen Counseling Services, we offer both in-person and virtual groups. Each group is facilitated by a trained therapist and follows a clear structure. Our team can help you explore current active groups, review schedules, and determine which group best fits your needs.
