Dara Salmond is a Certified Social Worker experienced in working with challenges such as complex PTSD, depression, anxiety, chronic health issues, caretaker fatigue, family dynamics, boundaries, addiction, and trauma recovery. Dara is passionate about the individual’s ability to heal efficiently and thoroughly utilizing EMDR, Gestalt therapy, motivational interviewing, and other therapeutic processes. She loves assisting clients to free themselves from self-defeating behaviors and beliefs, and to experience more fully the joy that life has to offer.
Dara worked as an advocate with delinquent teenagers in Colorado, providing support, career counseling, and child-rearing guidance, and as a live-in provider working with special needs clients.
She graduated with honors from the University of Northern Colorado and the University of Utah, completing practicums at Intermountain Healthcare and LDS Family Services. While completing her practicum she gained valuable experience with anxiety/depression, caretaker burnout, ADHD challenges, pre-missionary assessments, grief, and trauma. During her Master’s Degree program, Dara was the facilitator of a Women’s Survivor Group, a Positive Parenting course, and worked to implement the HOPE program for schools in Southern Utah.
