Kristina Holley
LCSW
Clinical Director — Currently not accepting new clients
Kristina is the heart and clinical anchor of Aspen Counseling Services, serving as Clinical Director since 2010. With more than 25 years of diverse mental health experience spanning from an inpatient psychiatric hospital to outpatient settings, she brings a rare blend of clinical depth, administrative leadership, and genuine relational warmth to every interaction.
Kristina earned her Bachelor of Science in Family and Consumer Studies with a minor in Psychology from the University of Utah, followed by her Master of Social Work (MSW) from Brigham Young University. Her training laid a strong foundation in both human development and systems theory, perspectives she implements into her work with individuals and families today.
As a therapist, Kristina is especially passionate about empowering adolescent girls and young women during some of the most formative – and often turbulent – years of their lives. She has a gift for helping teens untangle the pressures of social media, academic expectations, family dynamics, friendship concerns, and the search for identity allowing her clients to find their voices and feel heard. They learn through the therapeutic process that their opinions matter. Her office is a judgment-free zone and safe space for clients to discover their worth, where tears, laughter, silence, and everything in between are welcome.
Kristina’s strength-based, collaborative therapeutic approach is integrative and highly individualized as she incorporates:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to reshape unhelpful thought patterns
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to align actions with personal values
Solution-Focused Therapy to highlight existing strengths and rapid progress
Motivational Interviewing to resolve ambivalence and spark lasting motivation
Mindfulness and grounding techniques to regulate big emotions in the moment
Her playful sense of humor and down-to-earth presence make even the heaviest topics feel approachable. Her style is direct yet deeply compassionate. Kristina’s personal experiences with love, loss, joy, and growth continually deepen her empathy and inform her work. She feels honored to witness the courage her clients show every single day and considers it a profound privilege to be part of their stories.
When she’s not at Aspen Counseling Services working with her talented team, Kristina is immersed in the crazy and rewarding chaos of family life. She is a proud wife and mother who jokes that she loves any meal she doesn’t have to cook or clean up after. Fall is her absolute favorite season as she can’t get enough of the crisp air and vibrant colors of the changing leaves. On these weekends you can find her outside walking with her husband or going on jeep rides up the canyons with any of her teenagers willing to hang out with her. She also loves a beautiful, breathtaking Utah sunset and any quiet time she can find!
