Joleene Watabe is a Clinical Mental Health Counselor who has worked with adolescents, adults and couples for more than 10 years. She specializes in treating grief and trauma. Joleene is also able to treat mood disorders, anxiety, self-esteem issues and addictions. She has experience working with couples to overcome the barriers to connection they are experiencing and to help them create the relationship that they want.
Joleene is certified in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and Grief Counseling. She is also experienced and trained in ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy – a values-based approach) and CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.)
Joleene feels that each client is a unique individual and a treatment plan specific to each person is developed in order to help them improve their life and overcome any blocks they may be experiencing.
Joleene was born and raised in Southern California and has also lived in Japan, Ohio and Utah. She became licensed as a counselor in Ohio where she attended Xavier University and received the degree of Master of Arts in Community Mental Health Counseling. She was married for 26 years before her husband passed away in an accident. She has four beautiful children that continue to bring her joy.
