Lauren is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker trained at Brigham Young University for a Masters in social work and received a Bachelors degree in social work from BYU-Idaho. Her scope of practice has included treating individuals within their childhood all through to individuals of advanced years. Having worked in a variety of mental health sectors such as being a member of an Assertive Community Treatment team, Drug Court treatment, elderly independence and well-being advocacy, mental health of women who are incarcerated, psychiatric residential treatment for male and female adolescents, and most recently non-profit mental health treatment and education on childhood sexual abuse.
Lauren specializes in complex PTSD and the symptoms resulting from abuse, maltreatment, bullying, and neglect. Lauren provides therapy through a scope of trauma informed and trauma sensitive techniques and approaches; utilizing evidence based treatment modalities including, Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) Internal Family Systems, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Mindfulness, and Integrative Medicine Approaches. And what Lauren believes to be the most important aspect of her therapy approach is the foundation of being affirming and client focused.
