Matt received his Bachelor’s of Arts Degree in Languages from Brigham Young University and his Master’s Degree in Marriage, Family and Child Therapy from the California Family Studies Center. He has extensive experience working in outpatient mental health facilities. He has worked with adults and adolescents in his many years of practice addressing concerns that include adoption and foster care, anger management, anxiety, depression, defiant behavior, divorce, grief and loss, self esteem, stress, sexual abuse, self harm, suicidal ideation and trauma. Matt also has experience working in the criminal justice system where he has facilitated groups dealing with Anger Management and Impulse Control, Substance Abuse and Addiction Recovery and Transition back to the community.
Matt provides treatment to his clients implementing a variety of modalities including Client Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Family Systems Theories, and Solution Focused Therapy. Matt’s primary focus is working with adolescents, adults and couples struggling with addictions, anger management, anxiety, communication, defiant behavior, depression, early returned LDS missionaries, family issues, impulse control, LDS mission preparation, pornography issues, marriage counseling, self-esteem, and sexual abuse. Matt enjoys spending time with his wife and children and loves being outdoors surfing, sailing or traveling to new places.
