Roy Bickel

Roy Bickel received his Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Social Work and his Master’s Degree in Social Work from Brigham Young University.
He has extensive experience working in both inpatient and outpatient mental health facilities. He has worked with children, adolescents, and adults in his many years of practice addressing a variety of treatment concerns that include depression, anxiety, defiant behavior, anger management, substance abuse, grief and loss, divorce, coping skills, LDS Mission concerns, self esteem, pornography, stress, post traumatic stress disorder, relationship issues, sexual abuse, self-harm, suicidal ideation and trauma.
Additionally, Roy has presented to and worked extensively with teenagers in the community helping them learn the necessary skills to transition effectively into adult living.
Roy provides treatment to his clients implementing a variety of modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Client Centered Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy. He is also certified in Mending the Armor Pornography Addiction Treatment for teens, young adults and adults. Roy has been supervising fellow therapists for years and likes to help the “eager minds of tomorrow” learn from his years of experience in mental health. Roy’s primary focus is working with adolescents, adults, and couples struggling with adjustment issues, anxiety, communication, defiant behavior, depression, grief and loss, lack of motivation, pornography issues, marriage counseling, mood management, relationship issues, self-esteem, self-harm, stress management and suicidal ideation. Roy was born and raised in Indiana and enjoys spending time with his wife and children being outdoors camping, hiking, biking, rock climbing and kayaking. An avid sports fan, he likes cheering on his teams: the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the BYU Cougars.
