Available over Teletherapy

Sammy has been a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor for 25 years. She received her Bachelor of Arts from Carroll College and, being an overachiever, she has earned two Master’s Degrees. One from the University of Providence in Professional Counseling is the basis for her therapist license. The second is a Master’s in Education from Montana State University to do Vocational and Career Counseling, which enhances her therapy style. Although her areas of expertise are depression, anxiety and bipolar, she is actually a generalist, meaning she can and does work with many different mental health concerns and issues. Her career background includes working for over 11 years in Higher Education as a Counselor and Advisor and many years in private practices.

Along with her clinical skills, She brings a light hearted demeanor and a positive attitude to client sessions. She is sensitive to the needs of all populations and approaches everyone she meets with respect and acceptance of where the client is at that moment. She invests time in learning about and understanding the total person, their strengths, their concerns and their issues. Her priority is to help all clients feel comfortable and safe, leading to trust in the professional relationship and creating an individualized treatment team. Along with her expertise to help guide clients, the end goal is that the client will gain the tools and insight they need to propel themselves forward into a healthy future.

Believing in work-life balance, she encourages all clients to maintain that “me” time. Practicing that herself, she loves to fly fish, camp, do intricate woodworking, is a voracious reader and an avid photographer. Winning prizes for her photography, she has had the honor to have two published book covers with her photos on them. She also has a mega-green thumb for flowers, and enjoys cultivating and encouraging things to grow, just like cultivating clients to grow and thrive.

Sammy is also licensed in Idaho and Montana. Please call the office to schedule.
