Taia received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from American Military University and her Master’s Degree at Capella University in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.

Prior to obtaining her education in psychology and clinical mental health counseling, Taia worked in the United States Air Force. Her time in the military gave her significant experience working with various cultures and demographics in high stress situations. After her time in the military, she was able to pursue her passion for psychology and counseling to help various populations. Her time spent in the military, as well as working with outpatient clients, residential treatment centers, and latency aged day treatment programs provided her experience with issues including: various types of abuse, trauma, stress, boundaries, anger management, dependency, depression, and anxiety.

Taia uses Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), Solution Focused, Motivational Interviewing along with other treatment modalities when working with her clients. Taia’s primary focus is working with young to middle aged adults as well as veterans with issues they face including depression, self-esteem, anger management, poor coping skills, co-dependency, stress, military/veteran’s issues, life adjustments, social skills, anxiety, and post-traumatic stress disorder. In her spare time, Taia is an avid equestrian and loves to practice ashtanga yoga. She also enjoys hiking, swimming, and being outdoors with her husband, children and dogs.
