Teri Nitta

Available in the Highland Office and over Teletherapy

Teri is a Clinical Social Worker who provides a sacred space for her clients to start their healing journey. In her office there will be no judgment or criticism, no expectation of perfection, and certainly no shaming or guilting. Her clients are the experts of their own experience, and she helps facilitate self-exploration and discovery, guidance in reconnecting with the inner self, recognizing and celebrating strengths, and addressing/working through issues that her client’s feel are obstacles to living their best life.

Teri received a Bachelor of Science in Public Health from BYU-I, and a Master of Social Work from the University of Utah. She is EMDR certified and uses many different modalities to tailor healing and growth to her client’s unique needs. These modalities include, but are not limited to: Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), NeuroAffective Relational Model Therapy (NARM), Mindfulness, Brain Spotting Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Grief and Loss Therapy, Hypnotherapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Teri believes in the importance of good physical health as a prerequisite for good mental health. In her spare time she likes to enjoy time with her family and grandkids, listen to and perform music, hike, and research topics such as neuroscience, neuropsychology/immunology, nutritional psychology, cymatics, the gut-Microbiome/gut brain connection, psychedelic therapy, and other topics related to mental health.
