Tim received his Bachelor’s Degree from Utah State University in Family and Human Development. He received a Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Phoenix. Tim has also studied with Brigham Young University in Israel, Jordan and Egypt. His educational pursuits have given him opportunities to increase his knowledge of human behavior in various settings. Tim has a diverse therapeutic background. He has worked in a variety of settings, with very young children up to those advancing in age. He has worked several years with the elderly population, helping them deal with challenges surrounding dementia, schizophrenia, anxiety disorders, as well as other difficulties. Tim has also worked with individuals who hoard. Over the last several years, Tim has worked in numerous schools doing individual and group therapy with kids ranging in ages from 5 to 14 years old.
He has an intense background working with children and adolescents as well as their parents. One of Tim’s passions is helping parents improve their parenting skills. Tim has worked with adolescents all over the United States and Canada doing week long youth groups. These experiences have helped him better understand the complex challenges teenagers may deal with on a daily basis including depression, anxiety, peer pressure and bullying. Tim also has several years of experience working with clients and families who have dealt with the challenges of suicide. Over the last 8 years, Tim has worked with clients with cognitive disabilities, helping them reach their potential and deal with the challenges that come with having disabilities. Tim uses Solution-Focused, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Behavioral Therapy, Existential Therapy, Play/Art Therapy, as well as other therapeutic approaches when meeting with clients. Tim loves spending time with his wife and 5 children.
