Tim is a seasoned therapist at Aspen Counseling Services, completing 10 years in July 2025.He sees children, teens, adults, and couples. He specializes in a variety of treatment modalities and interventions, and has extensive experience treating mental health challenges like, trauma, anxiety, depression, obsessive/compulsive thoughts/actions, emotional regulation, dissociation, grief and loss, dysfunctional communication, pornography viewing, as well as many others. He is a trained EMDR therapist, and is a member of the national EMDR association known as EMDRIA. Tim received his Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling from the University of
Phoenix, and has also studied with Brigham Young University in Israel, Jordan and Egypt. His educational pursuits have given him opportunities to increase his knowledge of human behavior in various settings. Tim has worked with very young children up to those advancing in age. He has worked several years with the elderly population, helping them deal with challenges surrounding dementia, schizophrenia, anxiety disorders, as well as other difficulties. His own mother battled
Alzheimer's Disease for 9+ years before passing away from it in 2023. He also has experience prior to 2015 working in numerous schools doing individual and group therapy with kids ranging in ages from 5 to 14 years old. One of Tim’s passions is helping parents improve their parenting skills. Tim has worked with adolescents all over the United States and Canada doing week long youth groups. These experiences have helped him better understand the complex challenges teenagers may deal with on a daily basis including depression, anxiety, peer pressure and bullying. Tim also has several years of experience working with clients and families who have dealt with the challenges of suicide. Over the last 17+ years, Tim has worked with clients with cognitive disabilities, helping them reach their potential and deal with the challenges that come with having disabilities. Tim uses EMDR, Solution-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive/Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Play/Art Therapy, as well as other therapeutic approaches when meeting with clients. Tim loves spending time with his wife and 5 children. He loves hiking in the mountains, skiing, spending time at the ocean (when on a vacation), working out, and going for walks. He also enjoys laughing when watching television and movies. Two of his favorite movies are What About Bob?, and Remember The Titans.
